Screen time, turned into pages
Your own daily minutes, multiplied out over a year and read at a pace you choose. No averages, no studies — only your numbers.
Where to find your own number
On an iPhone, open Settings, then Screen Time, then See All App & Website Activity. The week view shows a daily average and a list of the apps behind it; the minutes for the two or three apps you scroll in are the number to type here. On Android the same list is under Settings, then Digital Wellbeing & parental controls.
The calculator does not supply a number of its own for how much people scroll. Figures like that are widely quoted and hard to trace, and yours is the only one that describes your day. what your screen time report is telling you goes through the rest of the report.
The reading pace is an assumption
The pages are worked out at two minutes a page unless you change it. That is a starting guess, not a measurement: a fluent reader of the Arabic can be quicker, someone learning to read it much slower, and reading a page of translation takes different time again. The honest way to set it is to time yourself on three pages and divide by three.
Everything else is multiplication you can check by hand: minutes a day × 365 is minutes a year, ÷ 60 is hours, ÷ your minutes a page is pages, and ÷ 604 is complete readings of the Madani mushaf.
The second field asks how many of those minutes you would move. Most people will not trade a whole habit, and ten minutes a day is still five pages at the default pace — enough to read the whole mushaf in 121 days. The khatm planner turns a number like that into a day-by-day plan.
Questions
How do I see my screen time on iPhone?
Open Settings, then Screen Time, then See All App & Website Activity. Switch to the week view for a daily average, and scroll down to see how many minutes each app took.
Why does the calculator assume two minutes a page?
It is a round starting point, labelled as a guess. Reading speeds vary a great deal, so time yourself on three pages, divide by three and type your own pace in its place.
How much is an hour a day over a year?
365 hours: 60 minutes × 365 days is 21,900 minutes, which is just over 15 whole days. At two minutes a page it is 10,950 pages, or about 18 readings of the 604-page mushaf.
